Common RFID cards and frequencies

 Radio frequency (RFID) cards, technically known as "contactless cards," are sometimes called...IC cards , but due to contact...IC card is also calledIC card , and radio frequencyIC cards generally refer to high-frequency cards, while ID cards are commonly called low-frequency cards. Therefore, it is more direct to call contactless chip cards radio frequency cards or contactless cards.

   Typical radio frequency cards are classified according to their carrier frequency into low-frequency radio frequency cards, high-frequency radio frequency cards, ultra-high-frequency radio frequency cards, and microwave radio frequency cards.

① Low-frequency RFID cards operate at frequencies of 125~134.2KHz (kilohertz), also known as low frequency (LF), such as the EM4100 ID card, T5557 card, TI's RI-TRP-R4FF low-frequency read-only card, TI's RI-TRP-W4FF low-frequency read-write card, HID's 1326 low-frequency thick card, and HID's 1386 low-frequency thin card. They are typically passive cards (without an internal battery).
② High-frequency RFID cards operate at a frequency of 13.56MHz (megahertz), also known as high frequency (HF), such as the MF1 card and I-CODE-II card. They are typically passive cards (without an internal battery).
③ Ultra-high frequency RFID cards operate at frequencies of 433.92 MHz and 840~960MHz (megahertz), also known as ultra-high frequency (UHF), such as the UCODE card. 433.92 MHz is generally an active card (with an internal battery), while 860~960MHz is generally a passive card (without an internal battery). [Note: There is a slight difference in terminology between UHF cards and radio frequency bands in China.]
④ Microwave cards have frequencies of 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz (unit: gigahertz), also known as microwave (uW), such as a type of microwave card in the EM4122. 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz are generally active cards (with an internal battery). [Note: There is a slight difference in terminology between microwave cards and radio frequency bands in China.]
⑤ There are also some experimental radio frequency cards with frequencies such as 27.125 MHz, 40.68 MHz, and 24.125 GHz.
The frequency of ID low-frequency cards, 5567 low-frequency cards, and HID low-frequency cards is 125 kHz.
