China is a country with abundant human resources. From the perspective of the functions of
RFID libraries, due to the low cost of human resources, it seems that there is no need to vigorously develop the application of
RFID in libraries. However, the purpose of
RFID application in book management is not only to reduce human resource costs, but also to achieve significant efficiency improvement through
RFID technology, increase the effective utilization of book resources, reduce errors and losses, improve public willingness to borrow books, and thus enhance reading interest. Its profound significance is to change people's habits at the technical level, cultivate overall reading habits, and improve national quality. So it is very necessary to develop
RFID libraries in China.
Compared to foreign
RFID systems, domestic
RFID has advantages in cost, technology, and service. In terms of equipment production, software development, and integration, domestic production costs have always been an advantage. Secondly, at the technical level, domestic
RFID technology has matured after years of development. On the service level, suppliers and users in the
RFID industry chain are always closely connected, grasping market demand, constantly innovating products, and even providing customized services. Customized design and production are all aimed at continuously meeting the actual needs of customers. The
RFID library in China still has great application prospects and development space, which is worth exploring together by participants in the entire industry chain. From this perspective, the development path of
RFID library applications in China will inevitably become more and more spacious.
Although the application of
RFID technology in libraries has a bright future, there will still be certain obstacles in practical applications. Due to the huge number of books in the library, and the need to label each book with an
RFID tag to achieve
RFID technology management, the cost of labeling has become the biggest expense. Secondly, the corresponding
RFID equipment also needs to be updated, such as anti-theft security access control, self-service borrowing and returning equipment, librarian workstations, inventory equipment, etc. These are hardware level expenses. Therefore, the formation and development of an
RFID library industry chain with independent intellectual property rights is crucial for promoting the application of
RFID in domestic libraries.
