Traditional labor-intensive processes are increasingly facing competition from modern, highly coordinated production and logical processes, potentially driving companies to implement more flexible production methods. To achieve customized mass production, a growing number of companies are using RFID technology. Future industrial production will be customized based on consumer preferences for different shapes and colors; the differences in production process requirements are just as important as the characteristics and requirements of the workpieces. Anyone involved in mass production will inevitably face the challenge of varying workloads at different workstations. Without intelligent systems, it is impossible to ensure the rational deployment of machinery, personnel, and equipment. This particularly includes the smooth and efficient coordination of different workflows, including conveyor systems and painting robots. The hope is to gradually replace complex manual operations with such systems.

  RFID technology is used to control critical operations in the surface treatment process of furniture manufacturing. Here, each workpiece is equipped with an RFID tag to store a specific product code. Using an industrial UHF RFID reader, the product ID of each workpiece is transmitted to the workpiece's electronic tag, and the workpiece is then pushed to a movable transport module. This module is also equipped with an UHF reader. The next step in furniture component movement depends on the collected information, which is simultaneously read and recognized by the robot in the next process step, causing it to move accordingly. Once furniture production is complete, the conveyor system transports tables, chairs, and cabinets to the painting production line. Only after receiving this data can the furniture component on the conveyor belt be subsequently moved to the correct position in the next process step.        Next, RFID identification transmits the data back to the employees, notifying them of the number of components that have reached the end of production. This data can be scanned using an industrial UHF handheld device. After production is complete, another UHF reader collects the data from the component and transmits it to the production system, then converts the production process record into an inspection result written to the tag.        UHF technology can simultaneously meet the requirements of the different reading ranges of the electronic tags on the components and the tags on the furniture components, and it simplifies and flexibly allows for installation. Due to its wider detection range, the UHF reader can be installed along the production route. The handheld device also needs to have a long-range detection range so that employees can quickly read the data. To avoid and prevent potential reading errors, the reader's power needs to be adjusted. Furthermore, the electronic tag codes on workpieces and furniture components are designed to differentiate between different types to prevent data from being misused during the filtering process.         RFID technology enables furniture manufacturers to not only improve the efficiency of surface treatment processes but also reduce downtime. Workpieces can be tracked in real time, and a wealth of information about product condition can be obtained. The use of RFID technology will also achieve two other benefits: firstly, preventing product counterfeiting; and secondly, enabling long-term quality tracking.
